De kans om te solliciteren voor je droombaan is eindelijk aangebroken. Gisteren plaatste oud-president Obama op Instagram een bericht met de oproep om te solliciteren voor het Obama Foundation Fellowship program. Dit tweejarig programma is gericht op leiderschapsontwikkeling, en biedt trainingen en middelen om maatschappelijke problemen op creatieve en innovatieve manieren op te lossen. Als je geïnteresseerd bent, de deadline is vannacht (6 oktober) om 1:00 uur.
Slechts 20 mensen worden geaccepteerd voor de eerste lichting. Dus dit is het ideale moment om deze once-in-a-lifetime kans aan te grijpen.
Ideaal gezien zijn de kandidaten op zoek naar manieren om het werk dat ze hebben gedaan in hun omgeving op een globale schaal voort te zetten. 'This fellowship is for organisers, inventors, artists, entrepreneurs, journalists, and more,' staat op de website. 'It is for those working within systems like governments or businesses, as well as those working outside of formal institutions.'
Wanneer je wordt toegelaten tot de opleiding staat een breed scala aan kansen en middelen voor je klaar. 'Fellows will also participate in four multi-day gatherings where they will collaborate with each other, connect with potential partners, and collectively push their work forward,' aldus de website. 'Throughout the program, each Fellow will pursue a personalised plan to leverage Fellowship resources to take their work to the next level.'
Om je aan te melden moet je een paar korte vragen beantwoorden, en een video van 60 seconden bijvoegen waarin je uitlegt wie jij als persoon bent. De website geeft zelfs een paar tips om ervoor te zorgen dat je sollicitatie opvalt vergeleken de rest:
"Keep it brief and real: We've kept application fields short in order to encourage answers that are straightforward and authentic. We're looking for writing that distills what's important to you.
"Don't be afraid to brag: While it can feel uncomfortable to put yourself in the spotlight, we need to know why you are the right candidate for the Fellowship. We want to hear about your work, your impact, and your personal connection to your community.
"Save your work: Please note that you cannot save your application. We strongly recommend you draft your application responses offline. Once your application answers and video are ready for submission, you can revisit the site and submit your application in one sitting."
