Oprah Winfrey gaat naast het piloteren van eigen televisiestation OWN aan de slag bij het bekende Amerikaanse nieuwsmagazine 60 Minutes van CBS. De Amerikaanse presentatrice, filantroop en actrice krijgt er de rol van special contributor toebedeeld.
Uitvoerend producent Jeff Fager maakte het nieuws deze week bekend en liet weten:
'There is only one Oprah Winfrey. She has achieved excellence in everything she has touched. Her body of work is extraordinary, including thousands of interviews with people from all walks of life. She is a remarkable and talented woman with a level of integrity that sets her apart and makes her a perfect fit for '60 Minutes.' I am thrilled that she will be bringing her unique and powerful voice to our broadcast.'

Oprah, een big admirer van 60 Minutes, is op haar beurt ook zeer verheugd over haar aanstaande speciaal journalistiek medewerksterschap:
