De 36 aangetikt, moeder van twee, alleenstaand, flink aan het trainen voor een triathlon, tussendoor achter de schrijftafel (begin 2016 staat er een boek gepland over gezonddoenerij) en op een viertal filmsets te vinden. Niet mis. Als klapper op de vuurpijl wordt de kaft van het decembernummer van de Amerikaanse Bazaar door Hudson gesierd. Genoeg reden voor een praatje pot, dachten ze aldaar. We lichten een tipje van de sluier op.
Over die films: Hudson werkt momenteel aan drama Deepwater Horizon, komedie Mother's Day, biografie Richard Pryor: Is It Something I Said? en ze zit in Kung Fu Panda 3. Als panda. Op de vraag welk dier ze zou willen zijn (goede vraag wel): 'I'd be a snow bunny. I had a weird encounter with one last winter in Aspen. I think it was a sign.'
Over haar verbroken relatie (met Muse frontman Matthew Bellamy): 'You know, the goal when you get into a relationship is not to be out of the relationship. It's to try to stay in the relationship. But if it doesn't work, you can't force those things.'
En zo is het.
Ze voegt toe: 'I've chosen something in my life that I'm very comfortable with that goes against a lot of people's more traditional feelings. If something's not right, I don't believe in maintaining something for the sake of what's considered a traditional family, because I believe that there are different ways to raise children. It's far more effective to raise children in happy homes.'
Over #lifegoals: 'I wish like my leg went up to here, like the dancer Misty Copeland, but I work on it. My goal is to get back into my splits. I can do like a normal split where your hips are open, but I want to do it where the hips are aligned.'
